We want to be up front that this book is not for everyone. It portrays graphically and intimately the horrors of dysphoria, queerphobia, misogyny, sexual assault, and abusive relationships. Bad things happen to likable characters; likable characters do bad things; bad characters do likable things; and everything’s confusing (just like it is IRL). This is the backdrop against which our queer protagonists are forced to define themselves.
If you may be triggered/retraumatized by or simply aren’t in the mood for graphic depictions of violence, abuse, harassment, sexual assault, drug use, self-harm, and suicide, please turn back now. We promise not to take it personally.
